Overview
Neurological physical therapy addresses conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system: stroke recovery, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, and post-concussion syndrome. The principles are different from orthopedic care because we are working with the nervous system itself, not just the muscles and joints around it.
Our approach
The work is task-specific and high-repetition because that is what drives neuroplasticity. We focus on the functional goals that matter to you: walking longer distances, transferring safely, regaining hand dexterity, managing tremor and balance. Caregivers are part of the conversation so the work carries over at home.
The arc of care
Neurological cases are individualized in length. Stroke recovery is typically a months-long arc with measurable change throughout; progressive conditions like Parkinson's are managed in periodic blocks of focused work to maintain function over time.
