Physical therapy treatment for spine disorders

Spine Disorders

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar conditions, from disc issues to postural pain. Hands-on care that addresses the driver of the pain, not just where it hurts.

Overview

What it is.

Spine disorders include a wide range of conditions affecting the cervical (neck), thoracic (mid-back), and lumbar (lower-back) regions: disc herniations, stenosis, postural pain, sciatica, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and the persistent ache from years of desk work. Many of these conditions look alarming on imaging but respond well to conservative care.

Our approach

How we treat it.

We assess the spine as a system, not a single segment, because pain in one area usually has a driver somewhere else. The treatment combines hands-on manual therapy to restore segmental mobility, targeted core and postural strengthening, and patient-specific movement retraining for the activities that flare you up. We do not chase symptoms; we look for the underlying cause and fix that.

The arc of care

What to expect.

Acute episodes often calm down within two to four sessions; longer-standing patterns take a focused six-to-twelve-week arc. By discharge, the goal is that you understand what your spine needs and can manage flares on your own.
